Modern university education system originated from the University of Bologna, Italy, and is usually textbook based.  After computer discovery even books have been becoming stale and obsolete, and with AI knowledge of the book it is coming back to the mind and consciousness. Ultimately it has become focused on mind-body-action. 

Creation of knowledge is the best way of acquiring it. Those who create and practice the knowledge are the Rishis and Acharyas. Acquiring knowledge (vidya) is closely connected to its proper learning practice (shiksha). 

At that moment there is no difference between the teacher (shikshak) and the student (shishya), as both become Acharyas through their conducts of learning (shikhna). This has been a pedagogy of education in India for millennia, that needs to be revived and practiced in the modern world of computer, internet, AI. 

Ayurvedic Gaali is an example of modern Upanishadic practice as a provocative strategy for practical and innovative tool developed with Ayurveda students of School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies at JNU. We hope the practice catches up with other fields advancing creation and practice of knowledge for the best of society in modern world.
